Where do I begin? Oh, I know. Let's start with the skin

It took dermatitis for me to take my skin seriously! For that, I am very disappointed in myself not that I didn't care or that I didn't try. I did, but nothing worked and what worked didn't do so for very long. Once I got older I went to a dermatologist that could finally explain to me what was wrong. Back to our "favourite" word Dermatitis.

What is Dermatitis? Well, dermatitis is a blanket term for inflammation of the skin. It causes the skin to get dry, flaky, patchy, swollen, burning, itchy and discoloured. The reaction is different for each skin tone. Someone with a light complexion being affected by this condition their skin will appear pink or deep red in the affected area. Someone with a darker complexion being affected, their skin will be darker than their natural skin tone and the patches may appear grey or very dull. This can affect any age as well.

There are different types of dermatitis; contact, seborrheic, dyshidrotic, atopic and sadly for us there are more. the good news is that it is not contagious, so don't think that you are, but it can be passed down through genetics.

It is always best to see a dermatologist know what is making your skin upset. It helps greatly to understand the problem in order to treat the problem. Changing your lifestyle may even help. Stress and even dairy can cause a flare-up. Take your time and understand your skin, find the right products that work for you while slowly building a routine. Once you have done this you will see great changes. Be patient with your skin, it goes through a lot.

Try our cleanser; it was developed with this condition in mind to help soothe the skin of that burning sensation while hydrating the skin.
